About Us

Apostle Lena Bates

Apostle Bates has an incredible testimony of living under the power and anointing of Jesus. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she grew up hearing preachers from Baptist, Pentecostal and non-denominational churches. Throughout her life she has witnessed God’s miraculous power.

At the age of eight she heard the voice of God giving her assurance when her mother was deathly ill. Her mother recovered, and Apostle Bates learned that the Creator and Redeemer of the Universe heard her cries.  As a young woman, Apostle Bates knew that the Lord was calling her into the ministry. God spoke to her and called her from a life of brokenness and said, “One day you will preach the Gospel and minister in my Name.”

After graduation, she began a career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in nursing homes and as a private duty caregiver.  She began to see that the nursing care she provided was a ministry which improved the quality of life for her patients, and their families, who were facing problems associated with life-threatening illness and old age.  After 16 years in palliative care, she enrolled at Bible Way College where she concentrated in Old Testament studies.  In 1994, she joined Workers for Christ, an urban ministry that targeted at-risk Black youth.  Donate Online

Ordained in 1997 as an Evangelist, and in 1999 as a Pastor, Apostle Bates moved to West Palm Beach and began working at Westgate Tabernacle Church in their programs for the homeless, family re-unification, counseling, and addictions.  In 2003, she began volunteering at St. Mary’s Medical Center in the Pastoral Care Department. After 2 ½ years as a volunteer, Apostle Bates was asked to join St. Mary’s staff as a full-time Chaplain.  She earned her American Association of Clinical Pastoral Education certification with 400 hours of training for institutional chaplains at Hospice of Palm Beach County.  Today she maintains an active role in the Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach communities where she represents St. Mary’s Medical Center in a coalition of leaders working to stop gang violence. In addition, Apostle Bates was recently tapped by St. Mary’s for advanced FEMA training for disaster preparedness for both the hospital and Palm Beach County.

Recognized as a leader in the Black Church community, Apostle Bates was consecrated in 2009 as an Apostle by Bishop Kenneth Williams of the United Fellowship of Churches headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida.  A full-time hospital chaplain and a sought-after preacher and teacher of the Word of God, Apostle Bates serves as Senior Pastor and Founder of JESUS IS LORD INTERNATIONAL WORLD WIDE MINISTRIES and as the Vice-President of the Men’s Organization in West Palm Beach.

In the early planning of JESUS IS LORD INTERNATIONAL WORLD WIDE MINISTRIES, Apostle Bates was less than excited about the development of a ministry in her home. However, in 2003, the Lord gave her a vision of multitudes of people coming to the ministry, catching the spirit of revival, and going to the nations spreading the Good News. The Lord said to her, “I am birthing this ministry in your heart.”  Today, Apostle Bates has a true heart and love for the people who come to the ministry. Throughout her life, Apostle Bates has been a bold and powerful minister of the Word of God. Her teachings have blessed thousands and made a profound impact on their lives.

Our Mission

The Mission of JESUS IS LORD WORLD WIDE MINISTRIES is to teach Christians who they are in Christ Jesus and how to live a victorious life in their covenant rights and privileges. The fulfillment of that mission takes place when those believers become rooted and grounded enough in God's Word to reach out and teach others these same principles.

We are called to lead people, primarily born-again believers, to the place where they operate proficiently in the biblical principles of faith, love, healing, prosperity, redemption and righteousness, and to the place where they can share those principles with others.

► We are called to assist believers in becoming rooted, grounded and established in the Word of God by teaching them to give God's Word first place in their lives (Colossians 1:23; Psalm 112).

► The theme scripture for our ministryisCome now, let us reason together saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 1:18).

► We are called to build a congregation of mature believers, bringing them from milk to meat, from religion to reality. We are called to train them to become skillful in the word of righteousness, to stand firm in the spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness (Hebrews 5:12-14; Ephesians 6:10-28).
